What's Wrong with IT Providers
for Trucking Companies?

I hate to throw some of my colleagues under the truck; but it's true, some providers understand IT; but don't have a clue about the things you have to go through to move your loads. We've decided that we're not going to be like the others and will provide support and tools to help solve the top problems your business has to deal with day in - day out.

From my experience these are the problems trucking companies really struggle with and they have nothing to do with gigabytes and megahertz:

First, Human Resources seems to be the biggest issue facing the Trucking Industry today. There's a big shortage of qualified drivers and this is unlikely to change for the foreseeable future. The next big problem is that now that you have hired them and trained them how can you keep them? There has to be a better way of handling HR without breaking the bank.

The next problem you face is the ELD Mandate. The whole idea of compliance has proven to be a big headache for you and your drivers. To compound this problem, many trucking firms scrambled to get themselves to position themselves to be compliant and were forced to make rush decisions. This brought out the worst of the worst of software developers, many that disappeared quickly after the ELD bonanza fizzled out. Furthermore, many truck drivers for reasons of their own, absolutely hated the change from paper to electronic logging. Even today we've also seen many software vendors are great at selling you stuff; but once you've bought you're essentially on your own.
